It’s hardly a stretch to call Emily Braun, a professor of art history at Hunter College, a Renaissance woman. After all, she’s published works on late 19th-century European painting,’20th-century American art, women’s studies, (be patient) Jewish history, contemporary sculpture, (not there yet) modern Italian art, fascist culture and Renaissance architecture. She’s also appeared on VH-1’s Best Week Ever talking about how Britney totally looks fat even though she had her baby like one year ago already. Gosh. OK, that last part was a lie, but Braun will nevertheless be a very distinguished guest lecturer at the Bridwell Library appearing as a part of the Judaica Lecture Series. Her topic: Jewish women and their salons. The presentation is free and open to the public. Braun will speak at the Bridwell Library, 6005 Bishop Blvd., 2 p.m. Sunday. Call 214-768-3483.
Sun., March 5, 2 p.m.
