Brooklyn is more than just what holds up the other side of that bridge, and though the most famous lullabies are on Broadway, other New York City boroughs also have stories to tell. The musical Brooklyn borrows the spotlight to shine on itself for a while, telling the story of a young woman in search of a father she has never known, in hopes of finishing his unfinished lullaby. The story is played out like a “sidewalk fairy tale,” with a cast of characters that includes an angel, five street persons and a ruthless street singer. Diana DeGarmo of American Idol plays the lead. Brooklyn runs from Tuesday through August 6 at the Musical Hall at Fair Park. Tickets are $11 to $69.
