Doug Stanhope is one dirty, dirty man. Most famous for his stints as host of the second generation of The Man Show—along with friend and fellow sell-out Joe Rogan—and that Girls Gone Wild video where he told a drunken young co-ed to show him “where babies feed” (both of which his Web site claims were “solely and shamelessly for financial gain”), Stanhope has also released five albums of Bill Hicks-style comedic rants on sex and society. For those who can stomach it, Stanhope’s comedy is often hilarious, but it’s certainly not for the faint of heart—even Charles Bukowski might feel the need for a shower after one of Stanhope’s raunchier routines. So…if you’re on a first date with a chaste young Amish girl, you might want to avoid the Addison Improv on Wednesday night unless you want to see her cry, in which case Stanhope’s show might be right up your alley. Doug Stanhope takes the stage at the Improv, 4980 Belt Line Road, Wednesday through July 2. For tickets and showtimes, call 972-404-8501 or visit improv.com.
