Out here in Texas, we honor romance fiction. In fact, we are “The Voice of Romance.” When I say we, I mean the Romance Writers of America, formed in Houston in 1980 by 37 romance writers who were sick and tired of being treated like second-class citizens by the New York literati. Today, we are the largest writers association of our kind in the world. Nine of us will be at the Preston/Royal Borders at 7 p.m. on Thursday to sign our books and talk about throbbing shafts, tingling loins and sweet, sweet kisses. Call 214-363-1977.
