Running is a pain in the ass, but you know what is an even bigger pain in the ass? Colon cancer. No telling if that’s the thinking behind the third annual Undy 5000 5K, but we wouldn’t put it past the organizers. After all, they’re not above a pun: The fundraiser title is a play on Indy 5000, and it’s being billed as “A Brief Run.” Hey, we’ll endure whatever drawers-related puns they throw at us, run ourselves, or even take in the unsightly jiggles of people running in their boxers (provided by organizers)–or even their briefs–if it helps Colon Cancer Alliances educate the public, promote screenings and fund research. The run is 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Winfrey Point at White Rock Lake. Cost is $30 in advance, $40 on site. Register or find out more at undy5000.com.
