Has it really been six years since Flickerstick won that Bands on the Run reality show on VH-1? It doesn’t seem that long ago that we watched the hard-drinking band agonize more about cheating on their girlfriends than making music or winning the competition. They still managed to win, though their post-victory fame has sadly dwindled. Huge gaps in their recording output haven’t really helped (the last studio album, Tarantula, was out in 2004 and since, they’ve only released a live album, Live from Atlanta). If the turnout for Saturday’s show is a bit lacking, then the band should probably realize that the fans that furnished their reality TV stardom are right back where they found them. Only now they’re watching reruns of I Love New York on VH-1 instead. Flickerstick performs Saturday at the House of Blues, 2200 N. Lamar St. Doors are at 9 p.m. Tickets are $14.50.
