If you want to be an Oak Cliff biko, you can’t buy any old bicycle. It’s got to be cool–a fixie or cruiser if possible. Also, no helmets–no matter what city code says. Whimsical hats are the only acceptable headgear. And if you ever want to be welcome at Oddfellows again, you’ll ride yours to Oak Cliff Earth Day, noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Lake Cliff Park (intersection of Zang and Colorado boulevards). Along with the Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church Choir, African drummers, jazz performers, the Dallas Public Library Bookmobile and alternative vehicle displays, booths will offer educational demonstrations, native plants for sale, adoptable pets, food (including local honey) and art. There’s a bike rack, natch, but if you must take the hybrid, there’s shuttle service from the free parking at Methodist Hospital Lot 10. Visit oakcliffearthday.com.
