Perhaps we’re biased, having a child who has learned some badass moves in three years of dance class. But we’ll go ahead and say that watching kids dance is far more entertaining than we’d have ever expected, whether they’re adorable toddlers cracking up the audience or teens awing us with moves we’d blow out a knee attempting. So we expect greatness from students learning styles including African, East Indian, folklorica and more during National Gathering of Dance from July 12 through 15. Performances are at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, July 14, at the University Theatre in the Radio, Television, Film and Performing Arts Building on the UNT campus at the corner of Welch and Chestnut Streets, Denton. Tickets are $10. Call 940-369-7293 for more information.
Wed., July 13, 7 p.m.; Thu., July 14, 7 p.m., 2011
