What makes a Texas romance different from any other romance? Old-fashioned values, cultural ignorance and other Lone Star stereotypes. A Texas Romance concerns a widow courted by a younger man. Her sister (who calls the works of F. Scott Fitzgerald “dirty books”) considers the romance inappropriate. I bet the sisters drink sweet tea on a porch at some point in this light comedy. Performances are 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays until June 13 with an additional performance 1:30 p.m. June 14, at the Bath House Cultural Center, 521 E. Lawther Drive. Tickets are $14 to $16. Tuesdays-Fridays, 1:30 p.m.; Every other Saturday, 1:30 p.m. Starts: May 28. Continues through June 14, 2008
Will you step up to support Dallas Observer this year?
At the Dallas Observer, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $14,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of the Dallas Observer, now’s the time to give back.
