Consider this your warning: Next month Philip Glass will turn an otherwise ordinary Monday evening into a landmark night of experimental chamber music at the Winspear.
This Dallas visit — part of the TITAS concert series — lassos in the living legend’s current project, an ongoing duo-recital with violinist Tim Fain. You’ve heard Fain’s electrifying string work before, he’s behind that punishingly beautiful violin on the soundtrack for Black Swan. He’s also one of the few soloists Glass writes compositions for. Reviews have been understandably glowing. (This is freaking Philip Glass, after all.)
If the Dallas show follows a similar pattern to the others on this tour, each musician will perform solo pieces and then work in tandem to shake out Glass-penned compositions.
Better polish up that musical chandelier, Winspear. It’s going to be A Big Night.
