Taverna Rossa Craft Pizza and Beer will open this summer at the Lakeside Market (4005 Preston Road) in Plano. This is a new concept for the same group that owns Palio’s Pizza Cafés and Cadillac Pizza Pub in McKinney.
Chef Brian Luscher of the Grape helped create the menu for this spot, which focuses on a “uniquely rustic take on pizza.” The pies have thin crusts and are baked in a stone-fired oven. The menu also includes appetizers, salads, pastas and hot sandwiches.
Taverna Rossa has a large waterside patio that can be either cooled or heated, depending on which day of the week it is. It will have live music several nights a week and 24 craft beers on tap plus a large menu of house-made cocktails.
The restaurant is expected to open in June.
