Texas Theatre shows Wes Anderson’s The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou Saturday night, and in proper Texas Theatre style they’ve filmed a mock doc promo teaser. From the miniature architectural model to the Candy Dungeon, it’s extremely satisfying. (Especially with The Midnight Coterie of Sinister Intruders stalled indefinitely in post-production.)
Saturday doubles as a an art auction and birthday party for bartender/dollface/pants-charmer-off-er, Susie Sue. Auction proceeds fund two great causes: Dallas street dog rescue group Duck Team 6 (a favorite non-profit of the birthday girl), and Sue’s own stack of medical payments. A major back surgery has kept her from professionally spreading joy since March 2013. Susie Sue is a local treasure, so show up and pitch in. Here’s the details.
