Every Thursday we highlight the best comedy of the coming weekend. Find more comedy events at dallasobserver.com/calendar.

Dustin Ybarra at Hyena’s in Fort Worth Will he be high? I hope he’ll be high. He’ll be high. A 2009 finalist for Funniest Dallas Comic, Dustin Ybarra has performed at the NBC Diversity Comedy Showcase hosted by Bill Bellamy and just finished filming Gay Dude. He’s in Fort Worth this Friday and Saturday at Hyena’s. Come out and see him and his glorious fro wax poetic about Chipotle, his friend’s babies, and (of course) weed.

Sean Patton at Addison ImprovSean Patton has been everywhere — Caroline’s, The Comedy Cellar, Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham. He’s even made it on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Conan. And now he’s here. Come hear him bitch about child owners (versus parents) and his shitty hair (keep him away from butterfly knives). Shows are Thursday through Sunday and tickets are available online. 21+ only.

The October Comedy Show featuring Landon Kirksey at Dallas Comedy HouseLandon Kirksey, sometimes called the fat James Spader, will be at Dallas Comedy House this Thursday. Landon’s hosted Dallas Comedy House’s open mic for three years now, so he knows the ropes here in Dallas. He might even invite some of his favorites on stage. Come out and see Landon, a 10-year veteran of the comedy and improv scene, this Thursday at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are only $10.
Extreme Improv Challenge at Cafe BohemiaEight teams will battle to become the next Extreme Improv Challenge Champion this Saturday at Cafe Bohemia at 9:30 p.m. The best part? The audience decides who wins it all and who goes home questioning their place in the world. The show is rated R and tickets are only $5.
Seven PsychopathsOk, before I say anything, let me just list some of the cast for you. Ready?

  • Colin Farrell
  • Woody Harrelson
  • Sam Rockwell
  • Christopher fucking Walken

And that’s just some of them. Seven Psychopaths, which we review here, follows a broke screenwriter who gets caught up in LA’s underground crime world after his crazy friends kidnap a gangster’s one true love — his Shih Tzu. It opens this Friday, and you can count on some showtimes being sold out. Get to the theatre early. Rated R, like any good comedy.
