Six people showed up to a protest outside Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s Dallas office Monday, demanding he call for Brett Kavanaugh’s withdrawal as Supreme Court nominee. Six people too many according to the building’s disgruntled security, who asked the small group to move off the property.
A minute later and about five feet to the left of where the group was originally standing, Deborah Baxter spoke about how she left corporate America in the ’80s after being sexually assaulted by two supervisors.
“I can’t believe we’re still marching and still having to fight for our rights like this so many years after what happened [to me],” she said.
The group hoped their presence would be enough to persuade Cruz to support their cause and weren’t discouraged despite their small number.

The group UltraViolet, a nonprofit that describes itself as “a community of people across the country fighting sexism and expanding women’s rights in politics and pop culture” sent a media advisory giving notice of protests outside Cruz’s offices in Dallas and Austin
