In this week’s Paper Version of Unfair Park, you’ll find a story about underage sex trafficking from the Village Voice, our big sister in New York (she’s very sharing, that sister). The story details the recent fascination of the media and Hollywood with the plague of sex trafficking — and all the money, government and otherwise, being dumped into curing it.

The problem is, as this and other stories by Village Voice Media reporters have demonstrated, the statistics used to generate all the fear — and all the money that follows — were pulled, basically, from thin air.
