There’s not much you can get for a buck, and when it comes to food there’s not much you can get that qualifies as actual food. Skip the McDonald’s drive through tomorrow and head to Pokey O’s (3034 Mockingbird Lane) tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for a treat that only costs $1, including tax. The dessert shop is celebrating its fifth anniversary by offering ice cream cookie sandwiches for just a buck. There are 15 varieties of homemade cookies and 16 flavors of Blue Bell ice cream to choose from to create your treat. If you’re stuck doing carpool duty, make a few kids happy with an after-school treat, then return them to their parents for the sugar crash.
