Maybe you saw this morning’s piece about the drop in sales tax collected by the city of Dallas — down 5.8 percent from October ’08 to October ’09. Problem is, Mary Suhm says in today’s memo sent to the mayor and city council, the story didn’t take into account the amount the city actually budgeted for back in September. According to projections, the city expected to take in $17,274,959, but only collected $14,583,521. She details the decline below.
