Vail, where it’ll be 75 degrees today.
Dallas real estate developer Mark Masinter, a founding partner of Open Realty Advisors on McKinnon Street (which reps the likes of Bob’s Steak & Chop House, Fireside Pies and Billy Reid), is already fairly beloved in Vail, Colorado, where he’s been a frequent visitor ever since he was a young’un. With Ross Perot Jr.’s Hillwood, Masinter’s been trying to get off the ground a $600-million development in Vail since last year; now, turns out, he’s considering a move into the wide world of sports. Notes this morning’s Vail Daily, Masinter’s worked out a deal with the Central Hockey League to start up a franchise in Vail; all he needs now is the spot for a $50- to $60-million arena.
