Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman’s Violitionist Session is finally up, and it includes a cover of San Antonio country singer Leon’s Payne‘s oft-covered “Psycho,” which recounts a series of violent acts by the narrator, who, at the end of the song, claims his “mind just walked away.” Gaiman does a fine job of adding a layer of British menace to the blind singer’s story.
The session also features Palmer’s cover of Lana Del Rey’s “Video Games” and her own song, “In My Mind,” as well as a Q&A about her new album, produced by John Congleton, and some insight into how the husband and wife keep their schedules straight. Check out “Psycho” below.
