There’s no doubt about it, for the Dallas music community, 2010 was strong to quite strong. Newer acts like Ishi, Air Review, Spooky Folk and many others made waves, while long-time acts like Sarah Jaffe and Doug Burr broke out with quite a bit of national attention.
You Plus Dallas, the Dallas-based media company that started in 2010, was there for a lot of it and put together a montage of clips and interviews featuring some of Dallas’ most prominent acts. Full disclosure: I worked with You Plus Dallas on a number of music related videos last year, and this one, in particular, features commentary from Unfair Park‘s Robert Wilonsky and me.
As I stated in the video, “people need to get out more.” If you didn’t get your full dose of Dallas music last year, this retrospective certainly doesn’t cover everything — just the tip of the iceberg, really — but it shows that 2010 was a great year for music in Dallas, and 2011 promises to be even better. Check out the video after the jump.
