In the club and party scene, it’s common to follow the Comedy Central sitcom Broad City saying, “in da clurb, we all fam” which is meant to be a funnier way of saying “in the club, we are all family.” This does not seem to be the case for one Dallas nightclub.

A TikTok video from Dec. 21 went viral after highlighting the message “WHITE BITCHES ONLY” displayed on a screen above the bar at Uptown Dallas’ Theory Nightclub. With over 3.7 million views, a backlash against the nightclub soon followed with online comments critiquing the nightclub for allowing the message to be displayed.

The most liked comment reads: “in the clerb it’s still 1945.”

According to Thought Leadership Summits’ website, Adam Alfia is president of Avenue Entertainment Group Inc. That group owns Theory, according to Dun & Bradstreet. Alfia is the father of Love Is Blind Season 3 cast member Alexa Alfia.

Alexa Alfia appeared in the series’ Dallas season in fall of 2022. She met Brennon Lemieux and married him before the show premiered in 2021. The two have stayed together since and welcomed their first child in July last year.

Adam Alfia received recognition from his daughter’s appearance in the series with an article from Women’s Health detailing his life. According to Science of CX, of which Alfia is the founder and managing director, he has been involved in over 25 businesses.

A TikTok comment with over 34,000 likes pointed to the reality star’s connection to Theory Nightclub. Adam Alfia has not publicly provided a statement on the offensive signage nor has his daughter.

The signage was allegedly the result of a perk that accompanies a paid bottle service that lets the buyer request a message to be displayed. According to an interview from The Dallas Morning News with the TikTok user who posted the video, the message was up for roughly 5 minutes.

“There is no context that would make this OK,” TikTok user Stephanie Gaines wrote.

In Dallas, several nightclubs offer customizable bottle service, where patrons can request personalized messages to be displayed. Bottled Blonde and Texas Republic, for example, provide these services as part of their VIP offerings.

According to a statement provided by Theory to the Morning News, the message was allowed to go through because the staff member who put it up was still in training.

“Even if a customer did it, the club shouldn’t allow certain phrases and should’ve escorted that table right on out,” TikTok commenter Britney wrote.

Aside from the message, Theory, which was established in 2019, has not had any recorded controversies, despite a TikTok user saying it has been “canceled.”

We reached out to the nightclub for a comment, but have not received a response yet.
