We may be getting BigXThaPlug’s collab with Post Malone really soon.
BigX posted a carousel of photos on his Instagram from what appears to be a music video. It features BigX and Post Malone near a campfire, far away from the bright lights of Dallas.
BigX, who dropped his country and hip-hop hybrid album I Hope You’re Happy in August, teased a Post Malone guest feature on the album.
Last year, he told Complex he had an EP loaded up with Shaboozey, Morgan Wallen, Post Malone, Luke Combs and Jelly Roll. The features he mentioned ended up all being on I Hope You’re Happy, except for Morgan Wallen and Post Malone.
“Post Malone. I sat in the studio so many times with Post Malone, but I understand because he’s on this Big Ass Stadium Tour,” he told Billboard. “I popped out a couple of dates for him, and now he’s overseas doing the same tour. So, he has just been busy nonstop, but you never know if a deluxe version is coming out with those guys on it. So, can’t just hang it up just yet.”
BigX appeared during a Detroit stop on the Big Ass Stadium Tour, the same night Malone brought out JellyRoll.
In the snippet for “Cold,” Malone delivers a hook perfect for sing-alongs in watering holes and honky tonks. Then BigX raps, “Was always told as this shit get better, it get worse / There’s times I could give my all, but I could tell you I’m not perfect / I’m young and I’m still learning / So in other words, I’m still working / Just to be a better man …”
We don’t know much else about the release date or if the song will appear on a deluxe edition of I Hope You’re Happy. It only shows that BigX is committed to this country artist transformation, gearing up to perform at the 2025 CMA Awards with Luke Combs for their song, “Pray Hard,” on Nov. 19.
