Dearest gentle reader, the social season is nearly upon us. With the much-anticipated fourth season of Bridgerton set to debut — Part 1 on Jan. 29 and Part 2 on Feb. 26 — a certain Regency fever is sweeping through Dallas. If you find yourself yearning for elegance, romance and a dash of societal intrigue, it turns out you needn’t travel far.

Here are some of the best ways to discover and indulge your grandest Bridgerton dreams right here in our city:

Afternoon Tea Fit for the Queen

If ever there were an activity worthy of high society, it’s the refined ritual of afternoon tea. Dallas offers several tea rooms ideal for secret-sharing and scone-savoring. Begin at The French Room at the Adolphus Hotel, where the gilded décor and delicate pastries make for a regal atmosphere. At Potpourri Boulangerie in Bishop Arts, you’ll find not only delectable teas but the opportunity to host a full Bridgerton-themed gathering.

For options a little more removed from the city, visit La Parisienne French Bistro in Frisco or Addison for a Parisian twist, or the DeGolyer Tea Room at the Arboretum for a garden view ideal for a gentle promenade (Lady Whistledown herself would approve). Beatitudes Tea Room in Lake Dallas gives guests a charming rural reprieve, and Three Roses Tea Room in Denton is currently offering special Bridgerton-style tea parties through February 1. Reservations are always recommended — after all, the ton never simply drops in unannounced.

Promenades to Remember

Every member of “high society” knows the importance of a good promenade — not only to display the latest fashions, but also to catch the eye of an eligible admirer. Dallas is well-endowed with scenic walking trails, from manicured park paths to sprawling nature trails. Whether alone or arm-in-arm with friends, these strolls channel the effortless grace of the Regency era.
