Is Pacific Heights Michael Keaton’s last great movie? He had such a huge head start with Night Shift, Mr. Mom and Beetlejuice. Then he made Batman and things went south. Other than his role of “Doug Kenney #4” (the clone in Multiplicity who carries pizza in his wallet), Keaton hasn’t lived up to his potential. So please, take this opportunity to let him freak you the fuck out in John Schlesinger’s 1990 thriller. His psychopathic tenant who cons unsuspecting landlords brings a kind of terrifying joy to the big screen that total turds such as Jack Frost and First Daughter made you forget he was capable of.
