Special effects make-up guru Kevin Kirkpatrick is very much our kind of dork. He’s structured the gore for everything from Tron to True Blood but still managed to squeeze in time to make these amazingly creepy human-like renderings.

That’s laced with a bit of irony: Kirkpatrick spent three years perfecting these awesome busts of the two biggest slackers in our generation’s pop culture catalog. Beavis and Butt-Head would never have been motivated to work on any project, which is why we love them. Well, that and because they were born right here in Dallas — creatively, anyway.

More pimples, yellow eyes, errant hairs and headbanging after the click.

Do you still love Beavis and Butt-Head? Does the original show hold up now, 20 years later, or has it gone the way of shows like ALF? (P.S. — Have you seen ALF in syndication? Don’t.)

Will you step up to support Dallas Observer this year?

We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If the Dallas Observer matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.

$30,000

What do you think about the new Beavis and Butt-Head, 2012 Edition? Here’s a closing video of Beavis and Butt-Head watching Ol’ Snoop’s lyrical masterpiece, “Gin and Juice” — yep, it’s Monday morning and we all need it.
