Before the Earth rips apart from a fiery blast of atomic flame in December 2012, there’ll be a couple more days of inspiring Earth Day festivities in downtown Dallas. Starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Pearl and Flora streets will light up with music, short films and food in honor of our little Blue Marble. Of course, there will be a number of activities to see and do around Earth Day Dallas for everyone of the planet and some non-sentient creatures (plants can hear, right?). There’ll be street performers, free yoga and an Eco Expo to teach you the ways of the green force. So garage the Hummer, turn the faucets and lights off for a minute our two while you’re brushing and head downtown Dallas for a little green fun because — sweet Lawdy — you don’t have much longer. (You’ve all seen the movies — Hollywood’s been prepping us for years.) Again a reminder (in case you’ve been thinking solely, since this piece began, about the apocalypse), Earth Day Dallas takes place in the Dallas Arts District Saturday and Sunday at Pearl and Flora streets.
