Though he’s been painting for longer than your average chillwave artist has been alive, David Row‘s art looks like it belongs on the cover of a synth-pop album. Precise lines and swooping curves in rich, contrasting colors expand beyond the edges of the canvas. Look for yourself and see if you don’t start humming “Should Have Taken Acid With You” at the opening reception for Row’s Flat Volumes, 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Holly Johnson Gallery, 1411 Dragon St. The exhibit hangs through May 14. Regular gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Call 214-369-0169 or visit hollyjohnsongallery.com.
Tuesdays-Saturdays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: April 2. Continues through May 14, 2011
