The term “outsider artist,” comes with some interesting connotations. Refer to yourself as an outsider in the wrong context and you’ll be sure to hear the sound of monocles shattering and frightful gasps. Luckily, most outsider artists are too busy looking for cans to care. But in Dylan Hunt’s case, he’s good enough to call himself whatever he pleases. His style fuses the abstract nature of surrealism with trace amounts of collage and street art, to create thought provoking works that make the viewer question their life’s journey. Hunt’s latest exhibition, Label Other End is opening with a reception at Caldwell Arte Exposicion (103 Howell St.) at 7 p.m. July 10. His show will run through August 7 if you can’t make the opening. For more information, head to caldwellarteexposicion.com.
Thu., July 10, 7-9 p.m.; Mondays-Fridays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: July 10. Continues through Aug. 1, 2014
