It’s time to take back Halloween from the commercialism that’s held the holiday in its grip since before the birth of the millennial generation. Forget the ratty wigs that hang in seasonal costume shops, or the huge amount of candy you have to buy so you won’t look like a douchebag neighbor or parent who doesn’t like to sit on the porch all night waiting for trick-or-treaters. Instead, recapture the true spookiness and fun of the ghostly holiday and head over to Dan’s Silverleaf in Denton to see the Cirque Du Horror with macabre musical maestro David J. Pierce and his ghoulish 20-piece orchestra of fright and delight. Following the success of the show last year, the Halloween performance has expanded to a three-day event running Friday through Sunday and featuring the musical performances of several DFW freelance musicians and a mixture of original poetry, stories and songs for people of all ages to enjoy.
