Spring break is supposed to be a break from the rigors of education, but if your kids go to DISD schools, that education probably isn’t too rigorous, mounds of rote homework notwithstanding. And with the budget crisis the district faces, the value of that education looks like it could plummet even further. So have your kids learn something fun–and possibly more useful than a DISD diploma–like basket weaving, spinning and traditional Hispanic crafting 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday at Dallas Heritage Village’s Spring Fling at Old City Park, 1515 Harwood St. Tickets are $10, $6 for children. Call 214-413-3674 for tickets and info.
