CGI superheroes are saturating the action film genre lately, and it’s becoming harder and harder for audiences to identify with our digitally caped acquaintances on the silver screen. There is little humanity for us to marvel at these days, and a sad shortage of amazing acts of real flesh-and-blood heroism. If you’re looking for a dose of awe or a shot of nostalgia to cure those nasty hero withdrawals you’re suffering, then head out to The Doubletree Hotel (2015 Market Center Blvd.) and meet Lou Ferrigno, the original and awesome human Hulk (he won’t be dyed green, though — sorry, nerds). Lou will be signing autographs at North Texas Comic Book Shows Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $7 for adults, and kids younger than 12 get free admission. The show will feature thousands of collectible comic books, memorabilia, action figures and other unique items of comic book lore. Photo opportunities with Ferrigno start at $30. The show starts at 9:30 on both days, and tickets can be purchased at the door. Don’t worry, he won’t smash. Just don’t try to snap and dash on him. Visit comicbooksdallas.com.
