The art world seems to be crazy about screen printing these days. From Tshirts to tote bags and now fine art, the once obscure practice of silk screening has had a major comeback in recent years, and of course, it’s huge in Austin. Well guess what? Now you can enjoy the majesty of some seriously talented squeegee jockeys without making the trek down old Austin way. Industry Print Shop is sending their “Wrecking Crew” up for Stay Up All Nite at the Red Arrow Contemporary. The show will feature print shop veterans Tony Diaz and Brian Maclaskey as well as five other members of the Industry Wrecking Crew. The Industry crew started as a bedroom operation, burning screens practically by candle light. Now they’re printing posters for Kendrick Lamar and flooding the state’s capital with amazingly succulent serigraphs. The reception goes from 6 to 9 pm June 28, at the Red Arrow Contemporary. If you can’t make it, be sure to catch the exhibit before it ends August 31. For location details head to http://www.redarrowcontemporary.com.
Sat., June 28, 6-9 p.m.; Mondays-Fridays, 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sat., July 5, 12-5 p.m. Starts: June 28. Continues through Aug. 31, 2014
