Christmas is over, the gifts are scattered throughout the living room and the leftovers are stuffed in the refrigerator–but wait, there’s still another week full of celebration. Yep, Kwanzaa is back, and this year’s celebration is bound to bring nothing but fun. The sixth day of the seven-day celebration, Kuumba, is dedicated to creativity and community, and the public is commonly invited to enjoy some food, stories and music with revelers. Dallas’ annual Kuumba celebration takes place 7:30 p.m. Friday at the South Dallas Cultural Center, 3400 S. Fitzhugh Ave., and features live drumming, a candle lighting ceremony and plenty of food. Admission is free. Call 214-671-0058.

Fri., Dec. 31, 7:30 p.m., 2010
