Picture it: It is Thanksgiving Day (it was only a couple weeks ago so it shouldn’t be too hard to imagine, right?). The turkey won’t be done for another hour or so. The football game hasn’t started yet. You need a moment to sit down and rest, so you take a second to catch a glimpse of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV. There they are, and if you’re big on tradition, you know they’ve been performing in the parade since 1957. They’ve been high kicking five times a day, seven days a week during the Christmas season for more than 75 years. Isn’t it funny how their bright smiles and leggy figures haven’t aged a bit? With pouty lips and graceful posture, they’re ready to go–The Rockettes are breaking out of the Radio City Music Hall in New York City to bring their Radio City Christmas Spectacular to a town near you. Having first taken their show on the road last year, the tour is expanding to 31 cities and incorporates a live nativity scene, Santa’s workshop at the North Pole, and of course, the Rockettes and their legendary high-kick routine. It’s a show every family member is sure to love. The Radio City Christmas Spectacular comes to the Nokia Theatre, 100 Performance Place in Grand Prairie, Thursday through December 30. Tickets are $10 to $91. For more information go to radiocitychristmas.com.
