A name and voice that has transitioned and translated across cultural borders is coming to the American Airlines Center Sunday. El Idolo de Mexico, the Latin Elvis Presley and an icon of Latin music since his emergence in the ’60s, Vicente Fernandez brings his rich, longing voice to Dallas with no fear of being lost in translation. Performing alongside him is the no less talented Paquita La Del Barrio, who–despite the strange controversy surrounding her statement on gay adoption–will grace the stage with her colorful and tenacious vocals. Definitely expect ginormous sombreros, sweet mariachi costumes and Fernandez’s trademark mustache. You might want to hurry and get your tickets, though, because his shows regularly sell out (the mustache is irresistible). The show starts at 7 p.m.; tickets are $49.50 to $200.
