Today,  the day I happen to wear black skinny jeans, leather ankle boots, and um, bowling socks from Brooklyn Bowl (seriously), I come across a video in which NYU hipsters mock NYU hipsters — yes, the cultural phenomenon has become that evolved. It’s the nexis of the universe or something. For the record, I’m not a hipster — except, apparently, on days I rush out of the house. People who know me will vouch. Then again, I can’t even begin to define the term, so maybe we all are, who knows. Or maybe it’s a state of mind or something. Or maybe this video is just blowing my mind because these people all look like they could have my classmates in courses like ‘Pondering the Meaning of Alien Life’ at NYU.

The video has already gone viral in the Observer office and beyond. Merritt, the invisible hand of Mixmaster, is learning the dance as we speak. Soon, you’ll probably be doing the same. We won’t judge.
