$10,000

If you’re like us, you’re a procrastinator who sat out on the traditional day-after-Thanksgiving holiday shopping spree known as Black Friday. Your idea of Black Friday is Christmas Eve, which this year also falls on a Friday, unless you’re just hoping to receive some re-giftable goodies at an office or church party and skip the shopping altogether. And every year, you swear to get an earlier start on the gift-buying. This year, do it–and support local artists at the same time–at the Blue Yule Holiday Fundraiser Party, featuring handmade ornaments, a silent auction, food, a surprise DJ and booze, 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the McKinney Avenue Contemporary, 3120 McKinney Ave. Admission is $20, or $15 for MAC members. Call 214-953-1212 or visit the-mac.org for more information.

Sat., Dec. 4, 5:30 p.m., 2010
