Out of courtesy or cowardice, we all tell white lies. Any of these sound familiar? “Dinner was delicious.” “No, officer, I haven’t been drinking this morning.” “Your new hairdo looks beautiful.” That last one is especially common, because no good comes from telling someone they’ll look awful for the next six months. But a theater production aimed at kids can’t condone fibbing, so in Red Riding Hood and the Big White Lie, Red’s insincere compliment of Granny’s new hairdo somehow unleashes more white lies that threaten to destroy Fairy Tale Town. The play—presented in the round, like all great theater—is part of an interactive series teaching values through dialogue, song and dance. Performances are 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 4:30 p.m. Mondays through August 3 at Artisan Center Theater, 420 E. Pipeline Road in Hurst. Tickets are $3.
