America doesn’t take kindly to foreigners these days. We’ve got civilians constantly monitoring our borders with guns and political figureheads calling for non-figurative walls to be built because they need votes and didn’t pay attention in their high school world history class. Occasionally, one of these non-Americans seeps through the cracks and we should consider ourselves lucky that Steve Hirst is one of them. The Manchester native has a very unique perspective on the American experience and a sledgehammer delivery that barely gives audiences a chance to breathe. You’ll have two chances to see Hirst at Hyena’s Comedy Nightclub (5321 E. Mockingbird Ln.) at 8:30 and 10 p.m. Friday and 8 and 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10 to $15 each at prekindle.com.

Fri., Oct. 10, 8:30 p.m.; Sat., Oct. 11, 8:30 p.m., 2014
