If you like jokes about broken-down cars in the yard, beer and NASCAR, you might be a redneck. But even if you’re not, there is plenty of entertainment in store at this triple-shot of blue-collar comedy. The godfather of this genre is without a doubt Jeff Foxworthy. He has turned his wry observations about wacky hicks into a multi-million dollar industry. Jeff is taking time off from his TV show, Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?, to spread redneck cheer across this great nation. Along for the ride this time are two of Jeff’s proteges, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy. What can one say about Larry the Cable Guy that hasn’t already been said in the aisles of Wal-Mart a thousand times? Bill Engvall is also the star of his own TV sitcom and his fans will surely flock like flies to see his unique take on the redneck idiom. It would make sense if the subculture lampooned by the comedy of these three would take umbrage with some of the more personal observations, but it seems that a sense of humor is also a qualification for being a redneck. Come check your neck as Foxworthy, Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy come to American Airlines Center 8 p.m. Friday. For tickets and information, visit ticketmaster.com.
