$10,000

It’s amazing that Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne had the idea to make Oxygentankfest free while the relatively younger dudes in Korn, who started the Family Values Tour, haven’t realized corporate sponsors will foot the bill if you let them cover the venue with more logos per square foot than a NASCAR car. Sure, Family Values made lawn seats an affordable $9.99 (plus an $8.10 “convenience charge,” because a ticket is more convenient than tin snips). But if you want to fight meatheads in the pit it’s gonna cost you $59.99. Is it worth it? If you dig the band that popularized rap-rock, Hellyeah, generic nu-metal or the soaring wail of Amy Lee—who has kicked Jesus and the band’s co-founder out of Evanescence—sure. The Family Values Tour starts 3 p.m. Friday at Smirnoff Music Center. Call 214-373-8000 or visit ticketmaster.com.

Fri., Aug. 17, 2 p.m.
