If only Alice had been more patient with the Mad Hatter, she may have found the key to making sense of Wonderland. This was certainly the case for artist James Gasowski. A colorful life shared between California, New York and Europe taught him that the world is a mixed-up place, but understanding can be found in art. Using lines and color to create structure from chaos, Gasowski claims he is able to make sense of “this mad, mad world” we live in and invites others to achieve the same clarity by joining the party. “Perhaps that’s enough for all of us if we could do something like this together,” he says. It’s A Mad, Mad World: New Work by Artist James Gasowski shows Thursdays through Sundays through November 11 at DECORAZONgallery, 417 N. Bishop Ave. For more information visit decorazongallery.com.

Thursdays-Sundays. Starts: Oct. 9. Continues through Nov. 11, 2008
