Mike Winfield is a special comedic talent, and trust us, you know his face. He’s parlayed guest appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman, Showtime’s Comics Without Borders, BET’s Comic View and Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham into a recurring role at everyone’s favorite paper company, Dunder Mifflin, on The Office. The Baltimore native and suddenly everywhere talent began his career in comedy in a small and unexpected way: by performing off-the-cuff monologues in front of his college speech class. Which, if you’re paying attention, means that someone actually learned something about themselves by taking a college speech class. Soon, Mike was casing open mics and toiling away at the local comedy clubs, and now he’s been hoisted up to television fame. You won’t want to miss this guy when he performs at the Fort Worth Hyena’s Comedy Nightclub (425 Commerce St.) this weekend, it might be your only chance to see him in a club-sized venue. Saturday’s shows are at 8 and 10:30 p.m. and tickets cost $10. Get ’em at the door. Visit hyenascomedynightclub.com.
