NorthPark Center is a pretty good place to start, as it has a wide variety of brand-name, luxury shops (which are great for window shopping at the very least) and more budget-friendly options that you can spend a whole day perusing. It’s also ever-expanding — the mall is set to introduce some new stores this year, ranging from high-end watches to influencer-friendly underwear.
Here are some of the new shopping options coming to NorthPark, ranked in order of how excited we are to check them out.
5. IWC Schaffhausen
This luxury watch brand dates back to 1868, when it aimed to combine Swiss craftsmanship with American efficiency. Today, it’s known for beautiful and meticulously crafted luxury watches, such as its well-known Pilot line, designed with aviation in mind.IWC currently has a presence at NorthPark as part of Eiseman Jewel’s selection, but the forthcoming boutique will be its third standalone location in Texas.
4. Sisley Paris
This French skincare brand has been all the rage with celebrities lately — celebrities with phenomenal skin, to be specific. Keira Knightly, Emily Ratajkowski and the ageless Martha Stewart all count themselves as fans.Skincare is trendier than ever, and there are a lot of options right now, but we’re super aficionados who will be willing to go the extra mile to justify hitting up this new shop.
3. Gap
Listen, don't let your childhood memories of being dragged here by your mom for matching Fourth of July shirts deter you — The Gap is cool again. The retail giant has become known for comfortable, affordable and stylish clothes for all genders and age groups. Though the store has been a staple at malls for decades (it actually used to be at NorthPark, but that location has been closed for years), its comeback is a big deal. The Gap has undergone a high-fashion overhaul in recent years thanks to its creative director (and a famed luxury designer), Zac Posen. In addition to supplying the same essentials shoppers have always loved, the brand’s atelier label, Gap Studio, has furnished red carpet looks for the likes of Timothee Chalamet and Demi Moore. NorthPark’s choice to have a Gap again speaks to its revitalized position in the fashion landscape.
2. SKIMS
SKIMS is a shapewear and lingerie brand founded by Kim Kardashian. It’s known for buzzy celebrity marketing campaigns, its associations with Kardashian’s cartoonish proportions (it’s not body-shaming if she would take it as a compliment) and to a much lesser extent, selling underwear.A Kardashian-fronted brand would probably lead most lists of this sort. First of all, we’re petty hipsters who reject what's expected of us. Second of all, celebrity buzz aside, this isn’t quite as much of an event as the Varley storefront. This will be the third location in Texas. Regardless, we’re expecting a lot of hype for this new addition, at the very least from influencers and reality TV enthusiasts.
1. Varley
This New York-based womenswear brand specializes in preppy and understated basics, knitwear and outerwear that exists to instill “quiet confidence,” according to its website. The clothes walk the line between being casual and comfortable while also signaling taste. They’ll elevate your vacation photos while making everyone you went to high school with jealous. This young, growing band makes the top of our list because NorthPark is set to boast the first permanent storefront in Texas and one of the first North American locations outside of New York. If other locations are to be believed, this storefront will be well-lit and washed in neutrals, creating a serene shopping experience for “quiet luxury” devotees.
