Editor's Note, 2/8/2025, 8:05 p.m.: We had a reporter on the scene Saturday prior to the first Dallas Mavericks game in Dallas since the blockbuster Luka Doncic trade on Feb. 2.


Basketball fans in Dallas were angry on this unseasonably warm February afternoon. Seven days after news broke that Mavericks General Manager Nico Harrison traded five-time NBA All-Star Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers, protesters gathered outside the arena. Many chanted "Fire Nico!" This was the Mavs' first home game since the controversial trade and it seems as though locals are still not quite over it. Neither are we, to be honest.
