Congrats, Carrollton. As we reported last month, H-E-B’s latest push into North Texas will be a new store at the northeast corner of Parker Road and Josey Lane.
At a meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 6, Carrollton’s city council approved the zoning amendment for the 120,000-square-foot H-E-B that will have a gas station, car wash, barbecue restaurant and pharmacy, the latter two with a drive-thru. The store will offer covered grocery pick-up and more than 600 parking spaces.
No timeline has been set for the construction to begin on the new store.
Carrollton Mayor Steve Babick said in a press release that this venture is the culmination of years of hard work across the region by several actors, adding, “We’re excited to welcome H-E-B to Carrollton, the community that families and businesses want to call home.”
Carrollton’s Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing on Dec. 4 and made a recommendation to approve the ordinance to rezone the 17.2-acre tract, allowing for this project. A traffic impact analysis was also submitted, reviewed and approved by Carrollton’s economic development project.
H-E-B Stores Planned for North Texas
Counting this and other stores under construction, there are now almost two dozen H-E-Bs in North Texas, stretching from Hudson Oaks near Weatherford, south to Waxahachie, as far east to Rockwall and as far north as Melissa. There’s only one store planned for Dallas proper.
Here’s a list of upcoming stores and project timelines:
- Forney, early 2026
- Dallas, no date set, likely 2028
- Murphy, sometime in 2026
- Irving, late 2026
- Mid-Cities, sometime in 2026
- Robson Ranch (Denton), late 2026 or 2027
- Denton, maybe 2027, probably 2028
