Meridian at The Village Dallas is ready for its next phase. Almost.
The restaurant is at the heart of the renowned Village community, a city within a city near Central Expressway and Loop 12 that has been a hub for young adults and shenanigans since the ’60s.

Around 2016, the entire 34 acres underwent a massive four-year renovation that resulted in modern, sparkling new amenities, including a hotel, a party-ready pool, a private club, sprawling green spaces with a softball field and yoga for hundreds.

To make it a true lifestyle space, several new restaurants were also built at the center of the community, most notably Meridian, with floor-to-ceiling windows and tables seemingly under a massive tree stretching over the space. Chef Junior Borges created dishes from his native Brazil, which earned him a James Beard semifinalist nomination for Outstanding Chef in 2023.
Later that year, Borges and Meridian parted ways. The restaurant closed in 2024 to undergo a redo.
Eduardo Osorio, a Los Angeles native, is Meridian 2.0’s new executive chef. We had a chance to taste his dishes at an LA fire relief dinner. Blue-corn cornbread topped with brown butter and caviar shushed the whole communal-style table.
We also recently noted Osorio as one of the chefs to watch in the hot Dallas dining scene.
What to Expect at Meridian 2.0
Unfortunately, the menu hasn’t been released yet. But this new version of Meridan is less fine dining and more refined neighborhood bistro, with a you-call-it a la carte menu and shareable dishes. Per a press release, the dining room has been remodeled for a more “lived-in” feel and is more laid back than before.
“This new version of Meridian is about creating a space people can return to regularly, whether for a casual dinner with neighbors or a night out on the town with friends,” says Chef Osorio in a statement. “We’re focusing on seasonality, simplicity, and soul without losing the thoughtful approach that’s always been part of the restaurant’s DNA.”
While we’ll always mourn the loss of Borges at this spot and the many dishes we loved there, we’re excited to see what Osorio brings to the space.
The restaurant is expected to open early this summer.
