Chef Omar Flores has been busy this year. He originally earned his Dallas street cred through his work at Driftwood, where he received two James Beard nominations. He’s since been building a Dallas restaurant empire with Big Dill Hospitality with a portfolio of restaurants that includes Even Coast, Whistle Britches and more recently, Casa Brasa, along Preston Road at Northwest Highway. Then, there’s Maroma in the Design District, a Coastal Mexican spot that should open sometime this year.

But have you ever been to Muchacho Tex-Mex in University Park? It’s always packed. There’s another Muchacho in Southlake, and once you’re onto something, why not forge ahead, right?

Flores recently announced that he’s opening a third Muchacho this spring in Frisco, at 8600 Gaylord Parkway near Preston Road, where Gloria’s Latin Cuisine used to be. Frisco is getting all sorts of fun things, like a new Tango Room.

Earlier this year, we reported that Frisco is near the top of the list of most popular suburbs for relocating, according to MoveBuddha.com. Frisco is the nation’s fifth most desired ‘burb. KERA reported that the city, home to the Dallas Cowboys practice facility and headquarters, experienced a 71% growth rate over the past decade.
