Oct. 27 Update: Pizzana on Preston Road will celebrate its grand opening on Nov. 3. They will offer $5 margaritas from Nov. 3 to 9 to celebrate.
We love pizza around here. Tavern style, deep dish and even New York pizza made with New York-like water. Yum, right?
Well, Los Angeles-based Pizzana, which is on our list of best places for a slice in Dallas, is a buzzing Knox-Henderson spot serving neo-Neapolitan pizza. Sprinkles Cupcakes creator Candace Nelson and master pizzaiolo chef Daniele Uditi founded Pizzana. The first Dallas location opened in 2022, the first outside of LA. The duo are opening a second location in a “larger, more dynamic setting,” which is notable because the flagship location is often crowded: this pizza could use some more elbow room.
The new location will have a covered patio, an expanded bar and an open kitchen. The press release mentioned “easy parking,” which is a salacious and “Pup Pizzas” for four-legged best friends.
The neo-Neapolitan “slow dough” here is fermented for 48 hours, which gives it true Neapolitan pizza qualities sans the floppy base. One of their signature pizzas, the cacio e pepe, is a spectacular twist on the traditional pasta dish. This upscale restaurant also serves pasta dishes, appetizers, salads, and desserts. It also serves cocktails, beer, and wine.
The new location is at 11700 Preston Road in Preston Hollow, at the southeast corner of Preston Road and Forest Lane, where (it seems) a Joann Fabric was previously (between a Hudson House and Whole Foods).
The new restaurant will open on Nov. 3.
