Robb Walsh and the folks at Ten Speed Press are putting together Texas Eats: The New Lone Star Heritage Cookbook. Walsh’s latest, a “colorful and deeply personal blend of history, anecdotes and recipes,” comes on the heels of several cookbooks compiling Tex-Mex, barbecue, cowboy cookery and other recipes from Texas.

Walsh also wrote Sex, Death and Oysters, a book kicked off by the discovery that Galvaston Bay oysters were being passed off as Blue Points and Chincoteagues elsewhere in the country. The book turned into a guide for bi-valve lovers, exploring the bacterial risks of eating fresh raw mollusks, offering recipes and a guide to the Nation’s best oyster bars.

The only problem with Texas Eats is you can’t get your hands on the book till March of next year. You can pre-order it on Amazon right now if you feel like letting someone else sit on your money for the next six months, but that feels a little like pulling the Christmas lights out the day after Halloween.

One-Texas themed text you can buy right now is Lisa Fain’s Homesick Texan cookbook. We told you about it over here , when she announced her book signing tour. Fain will be at the Le Crueset Cookware store on Thursday for a signing.
